17: Playing with his construction gear while we watch Gold Rush.
18: Oh No! The blimp popped! (My mom, a.k.a. Mama, works at Goodyear and gave Little I this blow-up blimp. I figure I'll just find the hole and super glue it.
19: The face shot of the week. Still no improvement. (Yes, there will be one of these each week on whatever day I don't remember to take a picture of anything else.)
20: This corner needs some work. I want to make it into a reading area/chill out corner for Isaiah. Any ideas?
21: Apparently playing games on his Leap Pad really wears him out.
22: The yummy strawberry-banana smoothie I made for lunch. Isaiah got to have some with his peanut butter sandwich. On a side note: will that kid ever get tired of PB&J?
23: Isaiah apparently has Psoriasis too (he has little red, scaly spots all over his face). I can't wait for my coconut oil to get here!

The coconut oil still hasn't arrived?? Bummer! I look forward to watching the progress once you start using it.
ReplyDeleteWill superglue work on an inflatable? It might just melt the material. :/
Have you tried spinach in your smoothies? We had our Monster Green Smoothie again yesterday and they're SO good! Sasha loves PB&J, too. I can go for long stints eating them, too. We have a different jelly for 3 of us here.
Great week! Keep up the good work!
I ordered the kind my cousin uses, and decided to do the Subscribe and Save option that Amazon has, not realizing that it's not scheduled to arrive until next week. :-/
DeleteI tried to use superglue on the inflatable, no dice, but I think I should have a patch from his pool that will work.
I have used spinach in a few of my smoothies, but I've been thinking about freezing it before adding it (recommended by a friend) to help it be smoother. And Isaiah could live for weeks on PB&J. I can only stand it once every couple of days.
I added a beanbag in my reading corner for the kids so they could flop down and pick up a book (I also made sure to add a book shelf at their height!) - maybe try that?
ReplyDeleteAh, the wonder that is coconut oil...saw it again in the supermarket today but still not sure how / what to use it for ;)
A beanbag chair is a great idea. I saw some at walmart for under $20 a couple weeks ago, maybe they still have them.
DeleteThanks for the idea!
Coconut oil can be used for LOTS of things. Cooking, beauty, health... etc. My cousin found me a recipe for lotion http://1smallchangeblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/homemade-lotion-recipe.html
And shampoo http://www.crunchybetty.com/not-ready-for-no-poo-try-sorta-poo-with-coconut-milk-and-castille
My son decided this week that he no longer likes peanut butter, I was shocked!! I put spinach in my kids too, like Jorje, but I have to add blueberries to make them purple...they won't drink green!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Coconut oil helps with my daughters eczema :)
Isaiah actually likes the green smoothies. He calls them his monster smoothies.
DeleteI would be shocked if Isaiah stopped liking PB&J, since it's such a staple around here. It might clear up a bit of cabinet space though, lol.
We love PJ and J around here too :) LOVE those jumbo construction toys!!!! Joe would flip for those! (he has some that are more his size)
ReplyDeleteFor the reading corner, I would suggest some cushions for sitting and lounging. I made some drum cushions recently that are AWESOME for that. You could also use bean bag chairs and throw pillows. But I LOVE the drum cushions I made. You can see them in my Mamatography this week :)
We put a pop up tent in our reading corner. It doesn't get as much use as I'd have hoped for, but still, it's nice to have a private hidey-hole Ameli can go to when she needs to. It also contains a world of mess ;)
ReplyDeleteCheck out www.hybridrastamama.com - she's my festival of food co-host, but she's amazing in her coconut oil knowledge!
The pop up tent we have (looks like a dog) is too big for the corner of the living room, I think. But I've been thinking about just a bunch of oversize cushions.
DeleteI'm so excited for the coconut oil. I just got it on Saturday. I'm already noticing a difference in both mine and Isaiah's skin!
